The Open Way Therapy is the counseling practice of Tim Plucinsky, LPCC. We want this website to work well for everyone who visits, including people with disabilities, and whatever device or assistive technology you use to browse the web.
What we are aiming for
We build this website with accessibility in mind, and we work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are widely used international guidelines for making web content easier to perceive, operate, and understand. We treat them as a goal we design toward, and we keep trying to do better rather than claiming we have it all figured out.
What that looks like in practice
As we build and improve the site, we pay attention to things like:
- clear color contrast, so text stays comfortable to read,
- a layout you can move through with a keyboard, not only a mouse,
- text alternatives for images that carry meaning,
- clean, semantic structure with a logical heading order,
- a responsive design that adapts to your screen and lets you zoom in or enlarge text,
- respect for your device setting if you prefer reduced motion.
Where we still have room to grow
This is a new website, and it will keep growing. Some areas may not be perfect yet, and we may not have caught everything. When the site links out to other services, such as a map provider, those are run by other organizations and are outside our control. We keep working to find and fix anything that gets in the way.
