Privacy Policy
Last updated:
The Open Way Therapy is the counseling practice of Tim Plucinsky, LPCC. We care about your privacy, and we have kept this policy short and plain, because the website itself keeps things simple.
For now, this is a single introductory website. It tells you a little about the practice, shares how therapy here works, and gives you a way to get in touch. It does not ask you to create an account, fill out a form, or share anything about yourself in order to use it.
The short version
- This website does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
- It does not set cookies to identify or follow you.
- The only information you share is what you choose to send if you email us.
- Email is convenient, but it is not a secure or private channel, so please keep sensitive or clinical details out of it.
Information you choose to share
The website offers one way to reach us: an email link to admin@theopenwaytherapy.com. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, your email address, and your message. We use that only to read your note and reply.
Please keep early emails general. Email is a good way to say hello and start a conversation. It is not a secure or confidential way to send personal or health information. There is more on that below.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, ours runs on a hosting provider whose servers keep standard technical logs. Those logs can include things like your device’s IP address, the browser or device you are using, the pages you open, and the date and time. This is an ordinary part of running a website, and it helps keep the site working and secure. We do not use it to identify you personally or to build a profile of you.
What this website does not do
It is worth being clear about what is not happening here. This website:
- does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service,
- does not use advertising or marketing pixels,
- does not use cookies to track or identify visitors,
- has no contact form, newsletter signup, accounts, or logins,
- does not process payments,
- does not collect clinical or health information.
If any of that changes as the website grows, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page.
Email and your privacy
When you email admin@theopenwaytherapy.com, your message travels through your email service and ours and then sits in an inbox, like any other email. That is completely fine for reaching out and asking a question. It is not the right place for anything sensitive.
Please do not send personal health details, clinical history, or anything private or urgent by email. If we begin working together, we will use appropriate, private channels for that kind of information, and we will tell you what to expect.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies to track visitors or collect personal information, and it does not follow you across other websites. Because there is no tracking happening here, there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signal to switch off.
Other services and links
A few ordinary, behind-the-scenes services help this website run:
- Our hosting provider stores the website’s files and keeps the server logs described above.
- Our email provider delivers and holds the messages you send to admin@theopenwaytherapy.com.
The website may also link out to other places, such as Google Maps or Apple Maps if you would like directions to the San Diego office. When you follow a link like that, you leave our website and land on a service run by someone else, with its own privacy practices. We do not control those services, and we would encourage you to review their policies if you have questions.
How we use your information
We use what you send us for one purpose: to respond to you, and, if it seems like a good fit, to talk about working together. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Keeping your information
Emails you send us live in our inbox as ordinary correspondence, and we keep them only as long as they are useful for staying in touch or responding to you. If you would like us to delete an email you have sent, just ask.
Your choices and questions
You are always welcome to email us to ask what information we have, to ask us to delete something you have sent, or simply to ask a question about your privacy. Depending on where you live, you may also have privacy rights under your state’s laws. Either way, the door is open and we are glad to help. You can reach us at admin@theopenwaytherapy.com.
Children’s privacy
This website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please let us know and we will remove it.
Updates to this policy
As the website grows into a fuller site, this policy will grow with it. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
